Nook and Cranny Books What if you read about a Capitol Hill bookstore for sale and bought it?

Seattle, WALocal News

Maren Comendant has proudly taken ownership of Nook and Cranny Books, a quaint bookstore located on Capitol Hill's 15th Ave E. Previously known as Oh Hello Again, the shop was founded by Kari Ferguson, who pioneered the idea of bibliotherapy in retail. Comendant, sharing Ferguson's aesthetic, has retained the unique organizational style of the shop, focusing on topics such as mental health and personal growth. Her initial dream of a book café remains, although she is currently committed to establishing the bookstore first. She plans to gradually introduce culinary elements, envisioning a space that offers not only books but also community events that spill into the street.

Comendant's decision to add used books aims to provide customers with selections that carry their own history. As she balances her role as a chef and bookseller, she is excited to see regular patrons returning to engage with the store. Her mission is clear: to celebrate and share the stories of her community through literature.
