Magpie Thrift, part of larger mission of reuse and inclusivity, to open on Broadway

Seattle, WALocal News

Magpie Thrift is set to open on Broadway this spring, taking over the Lifelong Thrift location as part of a new nonprofit initiative. The move comes as Lifelong Thrift shifts its focus to expanding kitchen and meal services for individuals living with HIV. Backed by the nonprofit Everly, Magpie Thrift aims to promote sustainability through education on recycling and circular practices. The store will also assist seniors in the community with downsizing and provide support to those in need. Proceeds from the thrift store will be reinvested into programs that foster inclusivity and support for queer communities and seniors.

The 12,500-square-foot space will maintain a commitment to vintage retail and reuse. A soft opening is planned for April 1st, with updates available via their social media. The initiative reflects a growing commitment to sustainability and community support in Seattle.
