The accident occurred shortly after 9 a. m. in the 16200 block of Viking Way Northwest, involving a 2008 Suzuki and a 2019 Toyota Highlander. Witnesses and evidence indicated that the Suzuki driver entered oncoming traffic but failed to return to his lane after the pass, leading to a head-on collision.

The driver of the Suzuki did not survive, while the male driver and female passenger of the Highlander sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were treated on-site.
