Snohomish County middle school administrator on leave after allegations of child rape

Seattle, WALocal News

An assistant principal at Centennial Middle School in Snohomish County has been placed on administrative leave following his arrest on suspicion of first-degree child rape. The arrest occurred on November 6, but the allegations are unrelated to his work at the school. He has been on leave since September 4, during which a judge has ordered him to avoid contact with minors, and his bail is set at $50,000. Despite being released on bail, no formal charges have been filed in Snohomish County Superior Court as the case remains under review. Kristin Foley, a spokesperson for the district, stated that while details about personnel matters cannot be disclosed, the district acted swiftly upon becoming aware of the non-school-related allegations.

The suspect's attorney claims the charge has been dismissed and the case closed, but the county prosecutor maintains that the matter is still active. This situation has raised concerns within the community regarding safety in educational environments.
