Woman arrested in Spokane after saying she was too busy to return rental car

Spokane, WALocal News

Mogan A. Jewell, a Spokane resident, was arrested after failing to return a rental car she obtained in Dallas on October 21, citing a busy schedule as her reason. The Spokane County Sheriff's Office reported that a Dodge Durango with a Florida license plate had been flagged as stolen. Deputies located the vehicle in Spokane and confirmed its stolen status. Jewell explained she intended to extend her rental agreement but could not reach the rental company, despite warnings that the vehicle would be reported stolen.

This incident raises concerns about rental responsibilities and communication between rental companies and customers. The rental company plans to pursue charges against Jewell for violating rental terms. She was booked into Spokane County Jail for possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
