Philippine Airlines to launch direct Manila to Seattle flights in October

SeaTac, WALocal News

Philippine Airlines will initiate nonstop flights between Manila and Seattle starting October 2, 2024, creating the first direct air service linking the Philippines to the Pacific Northwest. This new route is designed to boost tourism and serve the large Filipino American population in Washington and Oregon, enhancing PAL's U. S. network, which already includes major cities like Los Angeles and New York. Flights will operate three times a week, providing convenient connections to multiple U.

S. cities and various Asian destinations. PAL President Stanley K. Ng highlighted the route as a valuable opportunity for promoting tourism and facilitating business exchanges. The new service coincides with significant upgrades at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport, which are anticipated to further enhance air travel and economic prospects in the region post-pandemic.

Philippine Transportation Secretary Jaime J. Bautista noted the growth potential in air travel as the industry recovers. Additionally, the new flights will increase cargo capacity by 60 tons weekly, boosting trade between the U. S. and Asia.

To promote this route, PAL is offering special introductory fares valid for travel until November 30, 2024, along with options for early 2025.
