Phase 3 Trail Corridor Plan City of Scottsdale
The City of Scottsdale has been actively engaging with trail users since June 2016 to formulate a Trail Corridor Plan for the Phase 3 area of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve. This collaborative effort involved equestrians, hikers, mountain bikers, and trail runners who contributed valuable feedback and insights. On November 3, 2016, the McDowell Sonoran Preserve Commission formally endorsed the final plan, highlighting its importance for the community. The plan aims to enhance visitor experiences by developing well-structured trails while maintaining the ecological integrity of the area. With implementation slated for late 2016, this project reflects Scottsdale’s dedication to providing quality outdoor recreational opportunities.
Such initiatives not only benefit local residents but also attract visitors interested in nature and outdoor activities. By prioritizing both accessibility and conservation, the Trail Corridor Plan sets a precedent for sustainable development in natural spaces. This proactive approach is essential for fostering community engagement and ensuring the long-term health of the Preserve.
