Viva CalleSJ “Parks to Roses" Route Returns This Sunday
The City of San José is set to host the final Viva CalleSJ event of 2024 on Sunday, September 8, transforming the streets into a vibrant space for residents to engage in physical activities. The "Parks to Roses" route will guide participants through iconic locations, including the Municipal Rose Garden, The Alameda, Japantown, and Roosevelt Park. Mayor Matt Mahan highlighted the event as a means of strengthening community ties and promoting health and wellness among residents. Attendees can expect a day filled with exciting performances, vendor booths, and activities that cater to all ages, such as BMX shows and pro wrestling matches. Three main hubs will offer essential services, including water refills, bike repairs, and first aid, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
Local businesses will also participate as "pit stops," providing unique offerings to those who visit. The event is part of the Parks, Recreation, and Neighborhood Services Department's mission to create a connected and vibrant San José.
