2025 Artist Grantees Announced

San Antonio, TXLocal News

The City of San Antonio has announced the recipients of its 2025 Artist Grants, awarding a total of $262,500 to thirty local artists. Grants of $7,500 or $15,000 will support new artistic projects that are set to be publicly showcased over the next 18 months. The initiative, managed by the Department of Arts & Culture, aims to foster a diverse array of artistic expression, covering disciplines such as Literary Arts, Media Arts, Multi-Disciplinary Arts, Performing Arts, and Visual Arts. Director Krystal Jones highlighted the importance of a tiered approach that accommodates both individual artists and larger collaborative projects. The program prioritizes equity, with applications evaluated by a panel of experts, and additional points awarded for representation of marginalized communities.

Since 2022, over 120 projects have been successfully completed with the help of these grants. The Department also offers a San Antonio Artist Registry, which features profiles of each grantee alongside a broader selection of local artists. For further information, interested parties can visit the Department's website and follow their social media channels.
