Public Works Projects 2025
In 2025, Sammamish will undertake several vital public works projects aimed at improving the city's infrastructure and environmental health. The upgrades on Louis Thompson Road will enhance stormwater management and provide a safer environment for pedestrians and cyclists through new sidewalks and bike lanes. The George Davis Creek Fish Passage & Storm Improvement Project will focus on creating a fish-passable culvert, thus restoring vital spawning habitats for kokanee salmon and addressing ongoing maintenance challenges. Additionally, the Hazel Wolf Culvert Improvement Project will replace an undersized culvert, enhancing flow capacity and reducing flooding risks on West Beaver Lake Drive. As part of the 212th Flood Mitigation initiative, the city will assess road stability and flooding as it crosses Ebright Creek, ensuring critical connectivity for residents.
Furthermore, the Bike and Pedestrian Mobility Plan is being developed to analyze existing conditions and identify future improvement needs, with a community workshop scheduled for February 26, 2025. These projects not only aim to enhance local infrastructure but also prioritize sustainable practices and community involvement. Overall, the initiatives reflect Sammamish's commitment to creating a safer, more connected, and environmentally conscious community.
