Sammamish Chamber sets up new platform to promote local businesses

Sammamish, WALocal News

The Sammamish Chamber of Commerce is launching Shop Local Sammamish on October 1, a website designed to enhance the visibility of local businesses by allowing them to promote ads, discounts, and events. This initiative addresses the need for a digital platform in a city lacking a central commercial district. Executive Director Julie Honn noted that many small businesses expressed interest in such a service. The site will operate similarly to Groupon, with membership fees of $10 per month for Chamber members and $30 for non-members. The Chamber will also offer a one-time promotional fee for advertising events and discounts.

Currently, 26 out of 135 Chamber members have signed up, with hopes to expand participation, including businesses from outside Sammamish. This initiative highlights the importance of community support in fostering a thriving local business environment.
