Rockville Names Jeffrey J. Mihelich as Next City Manager
Rockville has officially named Jeffrey J. Mihelich as its new city manager, set to begin his role on July 15, 2024. Mihelich brings over 30 years of extensive experience in city management, most recently serving as the city manager of Bozeman, Montana, where he oversaw significant initiatives including the Inclusive City Initiative and the creation of a diversity, equity, and inclusion plan. His past roles also include deputy city manager in Fort Collins, Colorado, and assistant city manager in Surprise, Arizona, showcasing a diverse career dedicated to public service. Mayor Monique Ashton praised Mihelich's collaborative leadership style, which is expected to enhance community partnerships and address the city's future opportunities and challenges.
The appointment was made following a thorough nationwide search conducted by Raftelis, with Mihelich being selected from four finalists. His responsibilities will include managing daily city operations, preparing budgets, and implementing policies as directed by the Mayor and Council.
