Redmond Police Chief Darrell Lowe Named President of Statewide Law Enforcement Organization

Redmond Police Chief Darrell Lowe has been appointed as the president of the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC) for the 2024-25 term. His election took place during the WASPC's May meeting, where he previously served as Vice President for 2022-2023. Steve Strachan, the executive director of WASPC, praised Lowe’s extensive experience and leadership skills, asserting that they would greatly benefit the state's law enforcement community. In his acceptance, Chief Lowe expressed his honor at being selected and acknowledged the support from his peers. He highlighted WASPC's mission to enhance the development of law enforcement executives in Washington and the importance of networking and collaboration among various agencies.

Founded in 1963, WASPC comprises nearly 1,000 members, including county sheriffs, police chiefs, and representatives from state and federal agencies. It is the only organization of its kind in the nation, merging local, state, tribal, and federal law enforcement representatives to work towards common goals. Through its efforts, WASPC provides essential materials and services to law enforcement agencies statewide, regardless of membership status.
