Pune News: Ganesh Mandal From Balaji Nagar Booked For Noise Pollution During Ganeshotsav
In a significant move, Pune authorities have booked the Shivtirtha Mitra Mandal in Balajinagar for violating noise pollution laws during the Ganesh festival celebrated on September 17, 2024. The local resident, Bablu Dattatraya Bhise, filed a complaint stating that the mandal used loudspeakers without obtaining the necessary permissions, thereby exceeding the prescribed volume limits and causing public nuisance. Police Inspector H. C. Raut confirmed the registration of the case, indicating that swift actions would be taken against the violators as per legal procedures.
The complaint pointed out that despite earlier warnings, the mandal failed to comply with noise regulations, leading to disturbances that endangered local residents. Bhise criticized the mandal's leadership, suggesting a blatant disregard for both the law and the community's well-being. This incident has sparked wider discussions about noise pollution during festivals, which has been a persistent issue in urban areas. The local authorities are now under pressure to enforce regulations more strictly to ensure a balance between festive celebrations and community peace. The case serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle against noise pollution, particularly during major cultural events.
