Man arrested for crashing into Gresham home while driving under influence, eating chicken and watching ESPN

In a bizarre incident in Gresham, Oregon, police arrested Billy Holt after he crashed his Toyota Prius into a home while impaired and distracted by eating chicken and watching ESPN on his cell phone. The crash occurred on September 21 shortly after midnight, when officers responded to reports of the vehicle colliding with the bedroom of an apartment on Southwest 4th Street. At the time of the crash, seven individuals were inside the apartment, with one person in the bedroom, but thankfully, no serious injuries were reported. Holt exhibited signs of impairment upon police arrival and admitted to consuming alcohol before driving. He also confessed to being distracted by food and television while behind the wheel.

After refusing to provide a breath sample, law enforcement obtained a warrant for a blood test to determine his blood alcohol content. Gresham police are leveraging this incident to emphasize the severe risks associated with impaired and distracted driving. They expressed gratitude that the situation did not result in any fatalities or serious injuries.
