Sex assaults in 2 New Jersey parks may be linked
Police are actively investigating two sexual assaults in parks located in South Brunswick and Bridgewater, New Jersey, that may be linked to the same perpetrator. The latest incident occurred on September 28 at Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park, where a woman was approached by an armed man while walking along a path. He forced her to a secondary location on the Plainsboro-South Brunswick border, where she was assaulted. This attack mirrors a previous incident from July 18, where a female cyclist was assaulted at Duke Island Park after being approached by a man who held a knife to her throat. Authorities have released sketches of the suspect, described as a Hispanic male, aged in his 30s or 40s, and weighing between 150 to 175 pounds.
Police are encouraging the public to provide any information that could lead to an arrest. The investigation highlights the ongoing concerns regarding safety in local parks. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
