Help the PHS make the city even more beautiful this fall – Metro Philadelphia

Philadelphia, PALocal News

The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) is gearing up for a major tree planting initiative aimed at enhancing Philadelphia's greenery, with an invitation for volunteers to help plant over 1,200 trees across the Greater Philadelphia region. Scheduled from November 11 to 17, this event will enlist the support of more than 90 PHS Tree Tenders groups as well as various community organizations committed to urban beautification. Local residents are encouraged to sign up for the tree planting days, as participation not only improves the environment but also fosters community spirit. This initiative aligns with PHS's mission to promote horticulture and public spaces in the city. Volunteers will have the chance to contribute directly to the city's landscape while gaining hands-on experience in tree care and planting techniques.

The event highlights the importance of urban forestry in combating climate change and enhancing public health. As neighborhoods become greener, residents can enjoy improved air quality and aesthetics. With sign-ups already live, the PHS is poised to make a significant impact in Philadelphia’s urban landscape this fall.
