Students Invited to Create Santa Theme Ornament
First Lady Cathy Justice of West Virginia has extended an invitation to students from kindergarten through 12th grade to join the 20th annual First Lady Student Ornament Competition, focusing on a Santa-themed artistic creation. This exciting initiative encourages all public, private, and home-schooled students to showcase their creativity by crafting unique ornaments. The selected pieces will be displayed at the Culture Center in Charleston, providing a platform for young artists to gain recognition and celebrate their talents. By participating, students will not only express their artistic abilities but also foster a sense of community pride and engagement. The competition emphasizes inclusivity, allowing diverse participation across various educational backgrounds.
This year’s theme is particularly timely as it aligns with the holiday spirit, making it an anticipated event for families and educators alike. By showcasing these ornaments, the initiative aims to cultivate an appreciation for local artistry and inspire future creative endeavors among West Virginia’s youth. As the event unfolds, it stands as a testament to the importance of youth involvement in cultural celebrations, reinforcing the value of creativity in education.
