Onalaska tops RSB in second straight Saturday matchup

Onalaska, WASports

The Onalaska Loggers achieved a decisive 79-67 victory against the Raymond-South Bend Ravens, marking their second consecutive win against this rival team. The Loggers demonstrated consistent offensive prowess, scoring no fewer than 16 points in each quarter, with standout performances from Case McGraw, who netted 20 points, and both Blaze Underhill and Cooper Lawrence, who contributed 17 points each. Onalaska's strategy, as articulated by Coach Fred Sturza, emphasized fast breaks and pushing the ball up the court, which proved effective in maintaining their lead throughout the game. Defensively, the Loggers made significant adjustments to contain RSB’s Chris Quintana, who had previously lit them up for 32 points in their first encounter. By limiting Quintana to just 12 points, Onalaska showcased their improved defensive tactics.

Justin Jacoby added 11 points, while Nick Rushton and others rounded out the scoring. With this victory, Onalaska improved their record to 5-7 overall and 4-5 in the Central 2B League. The team is set to return to league action on Tuesday against Napavine, looking to build on their recent success.
