The Urban Land Institute has recognized Omaha’s RiverFront Parks with its 2024 Award for Excellence, which acknowledges outstanding development efforts across North America. Established in 1979, the awards program aims to highlight projects that set benchmarks in the land use profession. This year, a total of 52 projects were submitted for consideration, with only 18 being selected as finalists, underscoring the competitiveness of the award. The RiverFront stood out due to its achievements in community engagement, design, and sustainability. Since its opening, the parks have welcomed over three million visitors, showcasing their value to the Omaha community.

Other winners include significant developments like 550 Madison in New York and the Austin Housing Conservancy. The awards not only celebrate local projects but also position the winners as finalists for the ULI Global Awards for Excellence. This recognition reflects the RiverFront's impact on urban development and its role in enhancing public spaces.
