EmpowerHER A survivor of abuse using her trauma to help others heal

Ogunquit, MELocal News

Trish Cahill, a trauma-informed writer and educator, is on a mission to empower survivors of childhood sexual abuse through her compelling storytelling. Having experienced abuse at the hands of two Catholic priests and a nun, including her uncle who began raping her at just five years old, her narrative is both haunting and inspiring. Cahill, who shares her experiences under the pen name 'PK Hill,' has received both praise and criticism for her decision to write openly about her past. She firmly believes that her writing is vital for her healing process and encourages others to share their stories. One supportive Facebook comment encapsulates her impact: "You've grown into someone who would have protected you as a child.

" Currently, Cahill is pursuing an agent to help distribute her book, which aims to reach a wider audience and spread her message of hope. With April being Child Abuse Prevention Month, she stresses the importance of awareness and support for victims. If you suspect child abuse, she urges you to reach out for help by texting 'help' to 800-422-4453.
