Ogunquit, MELocal News

Samantha Pack, a 30-year-old woman from Elizabethville, has been charged with third-degree murder following the fatal overdose of Ronald Martin Jr. on December 27, 2024. The investigation began when Martin was found unresponsive in his motel room, with evidence pointing to drug use. Video surveillance revealed Pack entering and exiting Martin's room, leading police to identify her as a key figure in the case. During her interrogation, Pack confessed to providing Martin with two baggies of drugs, which he purchased for $100.

Disturbingly, she admitted to leaving the scene without seeking help after observing that Martin was unresponsive. Authorities confirmed that a 911 call could have potentially saved Martin's life, raising serious questions about Pack's actions. She now faces serious charges, including drug delivery resulting in death and involuntary manslaughter, and has been denied bail. The case underscores ongoing concerns about drug-related fatalities and the importance of timely medical intervention in overdose situations.
