Minneapolis, MNLocal News

Two shootings in Minneapolis have resulted in two fatalities and one injury, occurring just hours apart and in separate locations. The first incident, which took place around 8:50 PM on Thursday, saw 31-year-old Roberto Julian Manzano-Gomez shot at close range on 18th Avenue S. , leading to his death shortly after at HCMC. The second shooting occurred around 1:45 AM on Friday, where 23-year-old Jalen Mathis Easton was killed and a woman in her 20s was injured in a nearby home on 26th Avenue N. Police Chief Brian O'Hara expressed deep concern over the nature of these violent incidents, which he described as troubling and targeted.

Authorities have yet to make any arrests in connection with the shootings and are urging anyone with information to come forward. The police have emphasized that these incidents do not appear to be connected, despite the close timing. This year has already seen seven homicides in Minneapolis, a slight increase from the five recorded at this time last year, highlighting a troubling trend in community safety.
