City Suspending Facility Rentals

Mill Creek, WALocal News

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Mill Creek has suspended all community room rentals to curb the spread of the virus. This proactive measure is part of a broader effort to prioritize public health, as gatherings in confined spaces pose a heightened risk of transmission, particularly when attendees are not from the same household. Currently, Snohomish County is in Phase 2 of Washington’s Safe Start plan, which limits gatherings to no more than five people. This policy aligns with similar restrictions in neighboring cities, where community and special events have either been canceled or postponed until the area can advance to Phase 4. Unfortunately, the timeline for reaching Phase 4 remains uncertain due to recent increases in COVID-19 infection rates, as confirmed by Governor Jay Inslee and the Washington State Department of Health.

The city plans to review its rental policy once it transitions to Phase 3, demonstrating a responsive approach to changing health guidelines. Residents seeking more information can contact the city directly at 425-745-1891. This decision underscores the city’s dedication to safeguarding the health of its community during these challenging times.
