On April 22, 2024, a tragic discovery was made when the Tulalip Police Department was alerted to a body of a female in the tidal area where Tulalip Bay meets Battle Creek. This discovery came shortly after Marysville Police had entered a 16-year-old girl into a national missing persons database, indicating a serious concern for her safety. Local detectives, alongside officers from the Tulalip Police Department and members of the Snohomish County Search and Rescue Team, had been actively searching for the missing teen throughout the weekend. They employed two Search and Rescue K9 teams and utilized a drone from the Marysville Police Department to assist in their efforts. The body has been transferred to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office, which will provide official identification and determine the cause of death.

This incident underscores the community's urgency in addressing safety and the troubling issue of missing individuals. The Marysville area is now left to grapple with the implications of this discovery. Further inquiries regarding the case can be addressed to Commander Robb Lamoureux for more information.
