Lynnwood police are actively investigating an attempted child abduction that occurred on April 14 near College Place Elementary School. The incident involved a 10-year-old boy who was targeted while playing with his friends along a trail near the Lynnwood Municipal Golf Course. Fortunately, the boy and his companions were able to escape safely and return to their homes. The suspect, described as a 5-foot-4-inch Hispanic male in his 40s, was last seen wearing a black puffy jacket at the corner of 202nd Street Southwest and 73rd Avenue West. The quick response of the children and the presence of a vigilant parent contributed to averting a potential tragedy.
