Celebrate the new year at the 18th annual Polar Bear Plunge in Edmonds on January 1, 2025, at 1 p. m. at Brackett’s Landing beach. Hosted by The Edmonds Uplift Society, participants are encouraged to gather at the Edmonds Brewing District for refreshments and camaraderie before the plunge. Kid-friendly options, including the Who Let the Dogs Out food truck, will be available from noon to 7 p.

m. The event will feature a traditional march from Daphne’s Bar down Main Street to the beach, with live music starting at 12:30 p. m. This tradition, which began in 2008, aims to foster community engagement and a fun start to the new year. Inspired by a historic photograph from the Edmonds Historical Museum, costumes are encouraged for musicians wishing to join the Polar Plunge Paraders, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The Polar Bear Plunge not only offers a thrilling experience but also strengthens local bonds and celebrates the spirit of Edmonds.
