Guy Eric Aversa, a beloved former Edmonds resident, passed away at the age of 55 on December 24, 2024, following a 17-month battle with stage 4 Glioblastoma at Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York City. Born to Dr. Guido and Beth Aversa in Johnson City, NY, he moved to Edmonds at a young age, where he developed his love for cooking and running. Graduating from Seattle Prep High School, he pursued Italian literature at the University of Chicago, and later attended NYU, earning prestigious fellowships. Eric was not only an accomplished chef but also a dedicated marathon runner who participated in events like the Tunnel Light in June 2022 with family.

His passion for travel took him to countries such as India, South Korea, and Great Britain, where he supported his favorite soccer team, Liverpool. He leaves behind a loving family, including his wife Wonee and three children. Eric's funeral will take place on January 4, 2025, at St. Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Church in Cornwall, NY. His legacy of family devotion, culinary artistry, and athletic spirit will be cherished by all who knew him.
