Everett Christmas celebration unites community for local youth

Lynnwood, WA** Local News

The Christmas party organized by Casino Road Kids Ministries at Horizon Elementary School provided an evening of joy for 125 children and their families in Everett. Made possible through a generous partnership with Bob's Burgers & Brew Everett, the event featured a festive dinner, caroling, and gift-making activities. Each child received a gift, thanks to community contributions via an Amazon wishlist. Tyrone McMorris, the ministries' founder, emphasized the importance of not only giving presents but also instilling hope in children who might not have had a Christmas otherwise. The partnership with Carrie deKubber has flourished over nearly a decade, encompassing monthly meal donations and essential support.

The Christmas event also provided children with winter essentials like hygiene items, hats, and mittens, ensuring they are well-equipped for the season. McMorris expressed his excitement about the children's reactions to the crafts and gifts, highlighting the joy and gratitude displayed during the event. Such gatherings play a vital role in strengthening community ties and promoting the well-being of Everett’s underserved youth.
