Days after shootout with Lynnwood police, suspect checks into hospital

On Sunday evening, Lynnwood police were involved in a serious incident while investigating a theft in a Target parking lot. Officers spotted a stolen Hyundai that had intentionally targeted two teenagers, leading to a dangerous situation. The driver struck a 15-year-old boy before fleeing, which initiated a police chase onto an I-5 south ramp. During the pursuit, the suspects exchanged gunfire with police, resulting in injuries to an 18-year-old suspect, who later checked into a hospital in Oregon for treatment of non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. This incident marked a significant escalation in local crime and police engagement.

Investigators have identified the suspects but have not yet made any arrests. The Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team is conducting a dual investigation into the shooting and the police's use of force, highlighting ongoing issues in the Lynnwood area.
