Celebrate Chuseok, the Korean Harvest Moon Festival, at Edmonds Waterfront Center Sept. 17

The Edmonds Waterfront Center is set to host a vibrant celebration of Chuseok, the Korean Harvest Moon Festival, on September 17, 2024, from 6:30 to 9 p. m. This free community event is sponsored by prominent local organizations, including the Korean American Historical Society and the Greater Seattle Korean Association, highlighting the rich cultural traditions of the Korean community. Attendees can indulge in traditional Korean cuisine, featuring popular dishes like Bibimbap, as well as seasonal desserts and beverages. The celebration will be emceed by Jessica Hong, a well-known local comedian celebrated for her diverse performances.

The lineup of speakers and performers includes Che Sehyun, a storyteller and cultural worker, and Min Chorong, a skilled haegeum musician. Joann Lee Kim, a multidisciplinary artist, will also contribute her talents to the event. While the event is free to attend, RSVPs are recommended to help organizers prepare adequately. The Edmonds Waterfront Center is located at 220 Railroad Ave. , Edmonds, making it an accessible venue for community members to engage in this cultural celebration.

Hurst garnered 4,313 votes (51.22%) against incumbent Christine Frizzell in the mayoral race, while Escamilla led City Council Position 1 with 4,927 votes (59.79%). Voter turnout in Lynnwood reached 36.44%.
