Long Beach Church Vandalized Again Storage Unit Break-in Reported
Long Beach's community is facing increasing concerns over property security, as highlighted by two recent incidents reported to local authorities. The Church of the Nazarene on Pacific Avenue N. reported vandalism over two consecutive nights, where three crosses were forcibly removed from the church's outer wall and thrown onto the roof, in addition to damage to a planter. Alarmingly, this is the second occurrence of such vandalism, with the church not having reported a similar event in November or December. In a separate incident, a resident discovered her storage unit at Main Street Storage in Ilwaco had been broken into, with the theft of personal items including an antique wagon, clothing, bedding, and a lamp, totaling between $500 to $600.
An officer recommended that she consider moving her belongings soon, as the storage facility is set to close. These incidents reflect broader issues of safety and security that are impacting community trust and well-being. As residents navigate these challenges, the need for increased vigilance and community engagement becomes paramount. Local law enforcement's response and the community's proactive measures will be key in addressing these ongoing concerns.
