Lewisville Public Library Hosts Creative Writing and Banned Books Events
The Lewisville Public Library is set to host several exciting events aimed at fostering community engagement and creativity from September 23 to September 28, 2024. Kicking off the week is a Creative Writing Workshop for adults on September 23, where participants can explore their writing skills through fun games and exercises, with registration required. Following this, the library will hold a Make Your Own Mini Banned Book event from September 24 to September 28, encouraging all ages to create miniature versions of their favorite challenged books during Banned Books Week. This initiative not only promotes creative expression but also raises awareness about the ongoing challenges to literary freedom. On September 24, the library will also celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a family-friendly event featuring crafts and activities designed for children of all ages.
This celebration aims to honor and educate attendees about Hispanic culture and heritage, with no tickets or registration needed. These events reflect the library's commitment to providing enriching experiences for the Lewisville community. Through these activities, the library seeks to connect individuals and families while promoting cultural awareness and creative exploration.
