Conexiones Culturales: Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in Lewisville

The City of Lewisville is set to host "Conexiones Culturales: Cultural Connections," an art exhibition and film screening aimed at celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month from September 20 to November 16. Curated by Jose Angel Hernandez, the exhibit will feature works from various Latinx artists, including Odilia Iaccarino and Veronica Medeiros, and will be displayed in the Administration Hallway Gallery at the Lewisville Grand Theater. A highlight of the exhibition is a special event on September 29, which will begin with an artist meet and greet, followed by a screening of the award-winning musical film "In The Heights. " Directed by Jon M. Chu, the film delves into the lives of a Dominican community in Washington Heights, New York, as they chase their dreams.

After the screening, Dance At Legacy will lead an interactive Latin dance demonstration, allowing attendees to learn popular dance steps. The entire event is free to the public, and complimentary popcorn and snacks will be provided. Additionally, audience members will have a chance to win tickets to future performances at the Lewisville Grand Theater. This initiative is made possible through a City of Lewisville Artist Microgrant, emphasizing the city’s commitment to fostering cultural connections.
