Alpine Lakes Elementary School has been selected for a $5,000 grant from First Push Syndicate, aimed at enhancing its physical education program through skateboarding. The Get On Board Gear Grant program will provide equipment and training for the 2024-25 school year, allowing students to develop essential skills like balance and coordination while experiencing the joy of skateboarding. Physical Education Teacher Isabelle Auty emphasizes the opportunity to expand students' physical education experience, fostering confidence and resilience through this exciting activity. Beyond traditional PE, the program will also incorporate skateboarding-themed art, science, and reading activities, promoting creativity and social connections among students. First Push Syndicate's growth is notable, with over 10,000 participants logged in learning hours last year, and it aims to surpass 100,000 total participants by 2025.
