Father, son charged in deadly Lakewood drive-by shooting

In a disturbing event in Lakewood, Washington, father-son duo Julio Cesar Lucas, 41, and Matthew Cesar Lucas, 23, have been charged with first-degree murder and multiple counts of attempted murder following a drive-by shooting on August 25. The violent incident left one victim, Jose Limas, dead and three others injured. Prosecutors describe the shooting as a 'premeditated ambush-style murder,' with over 60 rounds fired at a van. Law enforcement arrived to find a chaotic scene, with a van full of bullet holes and blood in the area. Surveillance footage captured the suspects fleeing, and they were later found at a Home Depot parking lot.

A search of their Arlington home revealed an AK-47, a 9mm Glock, and other firearms, indicating the possibility of further arrests. Both suspects remain in custody, with their next court appearance scheduled for October 9, raising significant public safety concerns.
