Special Olympics Washington is actively recruiting volunteers for its 2024 NW Region Athletics (track and field) competition, set to take place on May 4 at Juanita High School in Kirkland. As of the latest updates, the organization still needs over 100 volunteers to assist in various capacities throughout the day. This event will host athletes from across the region, and volunteer roles are available for different shifts, including morning, afternoon, and all-day options. Participants must be at least 11 years of age, with younger volunteers aged 11-13 required to be accompanied by an adult. Teens aged 14-17 can volunteer independently for specific positions.
Those interested in volunteering can easily register online, allowing them to choose their preferred times and shifts. Additionally, groups of more than 10 who wish to volunteer together are encouraged to email the organizers for suggested opportunities. This initiative not only fosters community engagement but also supports athletes with intellectual disabilities in showcasing their talents.
