Nine Teens Arrested in Kirkland for Multiple Car Thefts

In a concerning incident in Kirkland, Washington, police arrested nine teenagers suspected of participating in a series of car thefts following reports of suspicious behavior at the Juanita Country Club condo complex. Residents observed two speeding vehicles with occupants in ski masks, prompting a call to law enforcement. When officers arrived, they found several suspects in the act of attempting to steal a parked Kia, leading to immediate arrests. Some individuals escaped, necessitating the involvement of Bothell and Bellevue police for a broader search. Community members provided valuable information, aiding in the identification and capture of five additional suspects through surveillance footage.

The arrested teens face serious charges, including attempted motor vehicle theft, possession of stolen vehicles, and obstruction. Notably, six of the suspects are now under electronic home monitoring, while three remain in custody due to extensive criminal records. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities linking the stolen vehicles to prior thefts in Federal Way and Kirkland's Preserve at Forbes Creek Complex.
