The Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll reveals that Democrat Rob Sand, serving as state auditor, leads with a job approval rating of 53%, a significant achievement in a state known for its Republican leanings. In contrast, Republican Governor Kim Reynolds has seen her approval rating plummet to 45%, marking the lowest since her tenure began in May 2017, with an alarming 50% of respondents expressing disapproval of her job performance. Meanwhile, Attorney General Brenna Bird trails with a 39% approval rating, down from 42% in the previous poll. Conducted by Selzer & Co. , the poll surveyed 811 Iowans between September 8-11, with a margin of error of ±3.
