Beginning September 25, 2024, Wayne Avenue will be closed at the intersection with Village Road for essential pavement repairs, necessitating detours for the 9-Towncrest and 3-AM Eastside Loop bus routes. The outbound 9-Towncrest will divert eastbound on Wayne Avenue, taking a left onto Dover Street, followed by a right onto Muscatine Avenue, where it will navigate a roundabout before returning to its original route. A temporary bus stop will be established on Muscatine Avenue at the intersection with Village Green Boulevard, although three bus stops will not be serviced during the closure. The 3-AM Eastside Loop will detour via Wayne Avenue to Dover Street and Muscatine Avenue, ultimately connecting to Scott Boulevard, with two stops also unavailable. To ease the impact on passengers, two temporary stops have been added at Muscatine Avenue and Scott Boulevard.

The detour is expected to last until October 24, 2024. Commuters are advised to utilize the Transit App for real-time updates on route changes and bus services. This closure highlights the ongoing maintenance efforts to ensure the safety and efficiency of local transit infrastructure.
