The City of Iowa City has officially released a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the redevelopment of the property at 21 S. Linn Street, inviting private developers to submit their proposals for a mixed-use building. Proposals must be submitted by 1 p. m.

on November 1, 2024, via the City’s Ion Wave construction bidding platform. The redevelopment project is designed to foster a mix of engaging commercial spaces on the ground floor and a combination of market-rate and affordable housing units. The City has established key priorities, including high-quality construction and architecture that complements the downtown area. Located near vital public facilities such as the Iowa City Public Library and the Tower Place Parking Ramp, the site is strategically positioned to enhance the downtown's vibrancy.
