Firefighters arrived within four minutes of the initial 911 call, where they observed a substantial smoke column. They quickly initiated a search and deployed firefighting efforts, managing to extinguish the fire within 40 minutes. Fortunately, the homeowner and her dog evacuated safely, but one of her two cats tragically passed away despite attempts to revive it. The fire's cause is currently under investigation by the Everett Fire Marshal’s Office, emphasizing the importance of fire safety measures.

The event saw collaboration from Mukilteo Fire, Marysville Fire District, and local police for traffic control and utility management. The Red Cross also provided assistance to the displaced resident.
