Vote For The 2025 Community Selected Historic Preservation Month Award
The City of Ellensburg is actively promoting community participation by inviting residents to vote for the 2025 Community Selected Historic Preservation Month Award. Three notable buildings have been nominated: the 420 Building, celebrated for its unique Art Deco design; the IOOF Building, which has seen significant renovations thanks to dedicated stewardship; and the Reed Building, recognized for its meticulous restoration of rounded wood windows. Voting is open until 5 p. m. on April 18, 2025, encouraging local residents to engage with their city's architectural heritage.
Votes can be submitted online, via email, or in person at City Hall, ensuring accessibility for all community members. The winner will receive recognition at the Historic Preservation Awards Ceremony scheduled for May 3, 2025. This initiative serves not only to honor preservation efforts but also to strengthen community ties through shared appreciation of local history. Participation in such awards highlights the importance of historic preservation in maintaining the character and identity of Ellensburg. By voting, residents contribute to the ongoing dialogue about the significance of their city's historic landmarks.
