Hwy 99 Revitalization - City of Edmonds, WA

Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Edmonds is hosting an online open house to discuss the Highway 99 Gateway & Revitalization Stage 2 Project, which aims to improve safety and aesthetics along Highway 99. Scheduled enhancements include converting the existing two-way left turn lane into a raised median, which will feature mid-block left turn pockets and landscaped areas for improved visual appeal. A High-Intensity Activated Crosswalk (HAWK) signal will be installed just north of 234th Street SW, providing a safer pedestrian crossing. The initiative also plans to add distinctive gateway signage at both ends of the city limits, establishing a consistent look for the area. This project follows the conceptual plans from the previous Highway 99 Gateway Revitalization Stage 1 initiative.

Community engagement is essential, with residents encouraged to attend the online open house and complete a feedback survey by August 15th. For further details, residents can visit the Edmonds Corridor 99 website, which includes links to the open house and survey. This revitalization effort reflects Edmonds' commitment to enhancing local infrastructure and community safety.
