Edmonds Offers Business Support Grants to Most Impacted Small Businesses
Edmonds, WA, has launched a Business Support Grants program under the Edmonds Rescue Plan Fund, which received approximately $11. 9 million from the federal American Rescue Plan Act. This initiative allocates $625,000 specifically for small business grants, with up to $10,000 available for each of the 50 qualifying businesses in 2021, and an additional $5,000 for 25 businesses in 2022. Eligible businesses must have zero to 30 employees and show at least a 50% loss in year-over-year revenue by the end of 2020 compared to 2019. The program is designed to support those businesses that may have been overlooked in previous financial aid efforts, particularly focusing on minority-owned businesses and those in the creative sector.
Applications must be submitted by 5:00 PM on September 13, 2021, highlighting the urgency of this support. Economic Development Director Patrick Doherty emphasized the city’s intent to reach out to businesses through multilingual communications. This grant program is a crucial step in helping local businesses recover and stabilize in the wake of the pandemic. Business owners seeking assistance are encouraged to reach out to city officials for further details.
