Community Invited to Complete Survey on Edmonds Highway 99 Gateway Signs

Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Edmonds, WA, is in the process of designing new gateway signs to be placed at the city's northern and southern limits along Highway 99, with a focus on enhancing local identity and safety. To involve the community in the design process, an online survey has been created, inviting residents to share their insights on the conceptual design of these signs. The survey is open until September 15, 2021, following a Community Workshop held on August 4th, where general project information was shared. The gateway signs are integral to the Highway 99 Revitalization & Gateway project, which aims to convert a center two-way left turn lane into a raised median, improving safety along the corridor. The project also includes landscaped medians and traffic curbs to enhance the overall aesthetic and safety of the area.

The design phase is expected to be completed in early 2022, with construction slated for late 2022. Community members can access the survey through a dedicated link and are encouraged to reach out for additional information or language assistance services. This initiative reflects Edmonds' commitment to involving residents in local development projects that impact their community.
