EAC Announces Two Programs - City of Edmonds, WA
The Edmonds Arts Commission (EAC) has announced the introduction of two enriching arts programs for the spring season: the Poet's Perspective and The Best Book I Ever Read Poster Exhibit. The Poet's Perspective invites poets from the Puget Sound region to submit short poems that will be featured in temporary outdoor installations, emphasizing themes that resonate with local culture and the environment. Up to six selected poems will be displayed for six months starting in April, with a $100 honorarium awarded to each poet. Entries for this program must be submitted by February 24. On the other hand, the Best Book I Ever Read Poster Exhibit encourages third-grade students to express their love for literature by creating posters based on their favorite books.
This program, in collaboration with the Friends of the Edmonds Library, has been successfully promoting literacy since 1997. Submissions for the poster exhibit are due by March 31, and all participants will be entered into a raffle for gift certificates to Edmonds Bookshop. Both initiatives highlight the EAC's commitment to fostering creativity and community engagement through the arts.
