Edmonds Architectural Design Board (ADB) Seeks New Members

Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Edmonds is actively seeking applications for two open positions on its Architectural Design Board (ADB), which is essential for guiding local architectural and planning decisions. The ADB serves as an advisory body to the Mayor, City Council, and Planning Board, ensuring that new multiple-family and commercial developments meet community standards in site, landscape, and building design. This volunteer role requires board members to attend one evening meeting per month, with the possibility of an additional meeting, and terms last four years with eligibility for reappointment. Currently, meetings are held via Zoom, but are set to return to in-person sessions at the Public Safety Complex once conditions allow. The application window closes on February 25, 2022, and candidates can apply online or request a paper application through email or phone.

The city emphasizes its commitment to diversity and encourages applications from women, people of color, and other underrepresented groups. Qualified candidates will be interviewed by the Mayor before appointments are confirmed by the City Council. This initiative not only aims to fill necessary board positions but also seeks to enhance community representation in local governance.
