Public Invited to Neighborhood Roundtable Meetings

Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Edmonds, WA, is encouraging community participation in its upcoming Neighborhood Roundtable Meetings, part of the "Reimagining Neighborhoods and Streets" initiative. Scheduled for late June and early July 2022, these meetings aim to engage residents in discussions about public space opportunities within their neighborhoods. The first roundtable will take place on June 22nd in the Five Corners neighborhood, followed by another on June 23rd in Downtown Edmonds, and a third on July 7th in Firdale. This initiative builds on a successful virtual kickoff event that attracted approximately 70 participants and included interactive surveys and breakout discussions. Development Services Director Susan McLaughlin highlighted the residents' interest in innovative strategies that enhance community vibrancy and connectivity.

Ideas for street activation, such as outdoor dining and neighborhood festivals, will be explored during these discussions. The city encourages residents to share their insights on how street spaces can be adapted to foster economic development and community cohesion. More information is available on the city's website, where residents can also sign up for project updates.
