They went in for dental work, but Howard Co. police say they left not knowing they had been violated

Columbia, MDLocal News

In a disturbing case from Howard County, Maryland, 43-year-old Delano Draine has been indicted on 68 charges, including various counts related to peeping Tom activities and visual surveillance. The investigation commenced in December when he was accused of attempting to record a 16-year-old girl in a dressing room at The Mall in Columbia. Detectives later discovered that Draine had been secretly accessing the cell phones of 37 women at the dental office where he was employed, recording personal images and videos without their knowledge. According to police spokeswoman Sherry Llewellyn, Draine was adept at observing victims as they entered their phone passcodes, allowing him to gain illicit access to their private content. Additionally, there are at least 11 other victims he allegedly targeted in the Howard County area, but they have yet to be identified.

Authorities have reassured victims that there is no indication that any of the recorded footage has been posted online. Draine remains in custody without bond following his arrest in May. This case highlights serious concerns about privacy and safety in seemingly benign environments like dental offices.
